List of attacks since 1979 (selection)
Terrorist attacks by Islamist extremists to further a perceived Islamist religious or political cause have occurred globally. The attackers have used such tactics as arson, vehicle rampage attacks, bomb threats, suicide attacks, bombings, spree shootings, stabbings, hijackings, kidnappings and beheadings. The following is a list of Islamist terrorist attacks that have received significant press coverage since the Iranian revolution in 1979. (source Wikipedia).
This list is incomplete, of course, because during many decades every day there are and were attacks anywhere on the globe of smaller or greater relevance which do not find their way into the headlines of the media.
